Zack Miller
This book presents an historical overview of the Comanches in Texas in the nineteenth century. Gwynn’s recounts the story of Cynthia Parker and her son Quanah. He describes how an area known as the Comancheria, extending west from just past Weatherford and into the panhandle was one of the last places in the U. S. to be settled by whites due to the presence of the Comanches. He relates how the Comanches evolved from an obscure group along the eastern edge of the Rockies to the powerful tribes they became due to their taming horses and becoming some of the most excellent horse mounted warriors in the world. A great book for anyone interested in Comanche history. https://www.amazon.com/Empire-Summer-Moon-Comanches-Powerful/dp/1416591060 Edited January 29, 2023 by Zack Miller Better link
