Gary
Bobby Morrow began building his reputation as a sprinter at San Benito High School, deep in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. I don't remember seeing him run track at that time, but I did see him play football there. He was a Senior when I was in the seventh grade. His reputation really grew while he ran college track at Abilene Christian. Our small town swelled with pride when Morrow made the 1956 Olympic team and when he won three gold medals, our pride was off the charts. The attached short video shows his win in the 100 meter dash. He was a hometown hero. He is a hometown hero. TrackandFieldVideoOl.mp4
