Y'all, when I was a teen, drive-in restaurants (using that name very loosely) were a thing.  In Oak Cliff (where I started life), one such place was Sivil's Drive-In.  I have some fond memories and I also have some memories I best keep to myself.  Attaching a link to a You Tube video I created a while back.  The music I selected was just perfect for it, dontchathink?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDCchOjibtY

Love it, Mary!  I've heard many things about Sivil's over the years.  I believe the video of the car hops with all their crazy hats etc... was actually filmed after Sivils had closed.

For us it was the Sonic Drive-In in Temple.  Round and round and up and down 57th we went.

Traces of Texas reader Elaine Ward went on a date at Sivil's Drive-In in Dallas on July 3, 1957 and kept the menu. 63 years later she sent it to me so that I could share it with y'all. Everything about this is outstanding.
