Moffat School was a 3-classroom schoolhouse in rural Bell County, and the building now serves as the Moffat Community Center. It was built in 1910 with classes held there through the 1973-1974 school year. In its later years, the school shared a Common School District superintendent named Connally Neal with Seaton and Troy. There will be a Reunion and Homecoming for the Moffat School on May 6th. My siblings and I attended elementary school at Moffat from 1962 through 1972 (only two teachers for grades 1-6 by then)  and our father born 1928 rode horseback to this school. This photo with teacher Stella Hyden and class is from the late 50’s and there are lots more on the Moffat School FB page. Come see us May 6th and share the stories you have to tell!
