Sspinner
I found this while going through old photos of my parents/grandparents. I have no idea who or where this is. I have tried to google both Scheffler's Restaurant and Lunt-Western Sinclair having no luck. Can anyone help identify this location or man, please? Traces
Just a few words about these old Sinclair stations. Sinclair stations are easily recognizable because Consolidated Oil Corp., which owned the brand, used the same architectural style across the country. The stations were comprised of an office, multiple bays for servicing cars, and a canopy, and they featured Mission-style decorative elements, including green tile and stucco siding. And it's because of that stucco siding that so many of the old Sinclair stations built in the 1930s still stand. They might be repurposed. They might be vacant. But they are still around. Once you internalize their distinct architectural style, you'll start noticing them in all kinds of Texas places.
