Frankster Posted July 12, 2023 Share Posted July 12, 2023 I was raised in Greenville,Texas and went to Bowie School from grades 1-6. In the front of the school was a glass-encased Bowie knife, signifying the school's namesake. I always thought that it was the actual knife used by Jim Bowie. It wasn't. But I grew up appreciating the sacrifices made by him and the other Alamo defenders to create the state of Texas.
